The buffalo were a very important animal to the native americans. They used them for almost everything, not wasting any part of the animal. Even the Buffalo tongue was used as a comb! The skin and fur were used for clothes in some cases, and bones for weapons. It was also there main source of food, and what they didn't need they would dry out for what is now known as jerky. Sinews were used for bowstrings and thread, the tail was used for fly swats and whips. They used to get dry skin from animals, a few flexible sticks and buffalo skin. They used to tie the skin with the dry skin to the sticks. Then the skin was left to dry.
